We created a Scottish Red ale by starting with a malty “red” base using roasted barley and caramel malts, adding heather tips into the boil and finishing with a Scottish Ale yeast. Heather tips are widely grown in Scotland and were used in beer before the use of hops. The heather is paired with traditional English hops to give this beer a unique earthy, slightly floral & pine flavor and aroma.
Bad Moon Rye'zn the unseasonal is a winter seasonal that uses a generous amount of rye and provides an uncharacteristic spiciness that does not come from your typical holiday spices. We consider Vertigo to be a “Midwestern”, hop-forward India Pale Ale (IPA). We use a generous amount of hops, but nothing too over-the-top. We use a combination of hops that give an aroma of grapefruit and orange, followed by a simple yet balanced malt characteristic.
Our Summer Seasonal, Earthshine Wheat is now available at the brewery. This is a very refreshing American Wheat beer that we brewed in honor of one of the things that Kansas is famous for, wheat, and in honor of all those hard-working men and women that farm it in this great state. It is brewed with Motueka (New Zealand) and Falconer’s Flight hops which gives it a slight lemon note.
This beer is a traditional Weizenbock, which is a blend of the traditional bock beer style developed in Einbeck Germany and a wheat beer. This style is what we consider, after some in-depth research, to be possible close resemblance of what our 12th Great Grandfather brewed in Einbeck, Germany. The uniqueness of this beer comes from the use of smoked wheat malt and peat smoked malt. The balance of German hops with specialty malts provides a truly unique drinking experience.
Bull Dog is a dark oatmeal stout. Notes of chocolate and coffee add to the complex flavor of this robust beer. A beer enjoyable during any season and with anybody.
Our Fall seasonal uses a robust amount of German malts, traditional noble hops and a non-traditional ale yeast to create a unique seasonal flavor. With caramel notes and a rich, amber color, this beer is a great companion for shorter days & cooler nights.
